As promised, here are some shots of the beautiful addition that Nick built (for me)!
***As I’ve mentioned before, my photography skills are pretty poor so these pics don’t do the room justice, but hopefully you can get a good idea of space nonetheless***
We kept the original terra-cotta colored tile because it was in great shape and durable.
With an 1000lb press and lots of ink and oil spills, the tile was the perfect (and free!) option.
The press in it’s final resting place! Hope we don’t have to move this thing again for a VERY long time…
I refinished several pieces of furniture for the room including the cart, the mint cabinet, 2 filing cabinets, 2 chairs, and the small secretary.
Here is a before shot of some of the furniture.
We bought a butcher block countertop from Ikea and stained it Dark Walnut for the back work surface.
The room really is so cozy and I had so much fun working in it over the weekend!
I’ve got a few ideas in mind for this big blank brick wall (back of the chimney)
I bought a huge antique frame that I am going to turn into a project display board of some sort, with either chicken wire, cork, or peg board…
I need to get a few shelves on the walls still, but otherwise the room is complete!
A HUGE shout out to my awesome husband for completing the project without divorcing me :)
Nick has also been using the room often when working from home and studying for his licensing exams.
I hope you have enjoyed this transformation and I look forward to keeping you up to date with all the letterpress goodness that will come out of this room!
Linking up to these parties!
