Welcome to the Monday Morning Press. Thanks so much for stopping by! My name is Natalie Monday and I’ve created this blog as a way to document and share the adventures of the Monday household. I am passionate about design, decorating, home renovations, letterpress, and furniture repurposing.  I love the art of making old things new and breathing life into tired spaces/ pieces.

Let me catch you up and give you a little bit of background information of who we are and what we do…

Like I said, my name is Natalie and I grew up in Roanoke, Virginia.  I am currently working in Richmond Virginia as an Architectural Intern/Visual Communications Specialist (fancy name for graphic designer/3D rendered) for a local architecture firm.

I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2008 with my Bachelor’s of Architecture degree and moved to Richmond to pursue my career.  While at Virginia Tech, I met this stud…

Yep, this is Nick, a local Richmonder. He also graduated from Virginia Tech in ’08 with his Bachelor’s of Industrial Design and his Master’s of Architecture. He also works as an Architectural Intern/Project Manager… and yes, we work in the same firm and have for the last 4 years.  He is currently studying for and pursuing his architectural license.  He loves sailing, flying remote control airplanes, Rhianna, and is a really awesome guy all around!

“anyone for scuba?”

From the first day I met him, I knew we were a match made in heaven (ha!) and after I moved to Richmond, he finally agreed to date me (after much begging on my part -I’m not ashamed!)…

…in March 2011, I FINALLY convinced him that it would be a good idea to marry me- shew!

Ahhhh… bliss- what a wonderful day!

Ok… back to the story… after the wedding, I moved into Nick’s 550sf condo in the city. We lived there for about a year and while it was extremely small, we made it a home.  It was a very comfy little nook and we all 3 loved it.

Yes, I said 3… let me introduce the 3rd and most adorable member of our little trio…

This is Hobie (or Boogs, Choncho, Chubs, Monkey, etc) and he is the very sweetest kitty in the whole wide world.  We absolutely adore him and I’m sure he will make many guest appearances on this blog…cat-lovers/ladies get excited!

In April 2012 we decided that it was time to upgrade to a slightly bigger home. We bought a fixer upper south of the James River and are in the process of turning it into a home!  We are excited to share our journey with you and we hope you enjoy the ride!

UPDATE: Meet the newest member of our family (as of March 2014)…
