So….when we bought our new house, we decided to keep Nick’s city condo and rent it out fully furnished.

Which meant we needed ALL. NEW. FURNITURE!

Music to my shopping spree hungry ears,  Right?

Hmmm… unfortunately no…

As I mentioned before, we were on a very tight budget and just did not have the funds to buy all new furniture for our entire home.  I had recently started following two amazing blogs, Perfectly Imperfect and Miss Mustard Seed (Check out these brilliant ladies, you won’t be disappointed!) that inspired to me tackle the art of furniture renovations.

Unwilling to settle for an empty house, I quickly became best friends with Craigslist (or perhaps more like a slight obsession?) and second hand shops- buying cheap, old furniture and flipping them into fun new pieces for our home.

Over the past 8 months, I have been able to fully furnish our 1,600 sf home for just about $1,000(this includes the furniture itself plus the (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint)and wax for refinishing).  Furniture rehabs have now become a new passion for me…I just love hunting for unique, tired pieces in need of a new purpose.

*** Please bear with me as I develop my photography skills… some of these picturess aren’t the greatest (especially the before pictures) but I’m working on it. Thanks!***

This was my very first piece… a $25.00 wooden desk that I picked up off of Craigslist…

Here are a few other pieces I’ve done for our home!

Now I know what you are going to say…. this one was beautiful on its own, but it was a little dark for the room I wanted it in…
