Welcome to Monday Morning Press… where passion meets alllllll things paper! I’m Natalie Monday, the owner, designer, printer and maker behind MMP. I am a letterpress wedding stationer-turned paper jewelry artist. I design a NEW COLLECTION of paper jewelry each month based on a different color palette/theme. Many of my creations feature handmade papers (not by me), metallics, glitter and artist collab designs. Some even include textures printed on my 115 year old letterpress that I hand-feed and treadle by foot!
Natalie has a degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech and worked in a design firm for 6 years prior to opening MMP. She works out of her home studio in Richmond, Virginia while also balancing the roles of wife to Nick and mother to 3 young girls, Olivia, Charley, and Brooklyn. You will often see them featured on her Instagram!
Lauren
Lauren joined MMP in late 2020. She jumped into help during the busy holiday season and we decided to never let her go. She is also my baby sister (by 10 years!) and I am so grateful that she puts up with me on a daily basis. Also not a small task! She has a great eye for design and is often times coming up with brand new styles. She has the best laugh and is the designated studio DJ as well as the resident celebrity gossip queen. In her down time she runs her own successful handmade soap business. She creates the most beautiful and delicious smelling products. Check out LEND Handmade Soaps here!
Earrings
My paper earrings are made from multiple layers of card stock, chipboard, and paper. Every piece is handmade by me and my wonderful team of 4 amazing women. Each layer of paper is carefully glued, cut, sealed and assembled. The earrings are rigid but perfectly (and extremely) lightweight for any day of the week! They are sealed for water resistance… not for submersion which means you should be ok if you get caught in the rain unexpectedly, but don’t jump into a pool or bath! Trust me…
I currently have over 45 unique earring styles that I have named after my friends, family, and most loyal customers and I’m always adding new ladies to the mix (you could be next!). Be on the lookout for surprise PLAY DAY pop-ups. These are one-of-a-kind pieces that I create when I need a day “off” to just sit down and PLAY, PLAY, PLAY … they often feature mixed papers from past collections and are some my biggest and funkiest designs!
